Private and personal
I am a bad blogger.
I am paranoid about my privacy. When you blog you let go of your inhibitions and just write. I don’t like to write about my personal life. I don’t like to discuss what I had for lunch and what I wore for my date.
Because whenever I post anything on the net, someone is going to be reading it! I might never meet that person but s/he will know all details about my private life.
I had a blog previously and would post quite regularly. I had a blog ring, real friends as well as online ones, several of whom I am still friendly with. But now however the urge to blog is slowly reducing. It was fun while it lasted but somehow I can’t get back to it.
I need a topic to blog about and the topic is not going to be me.
To emphasize, I found this truly creepy video on youtube about teenagers and privacy. Its called 'Think before you post' and its is very evocative.
Comments
I don't think anyone here knows my real name or how old I am or anything. No one really needs to know.
I don't mind putting mildly personal items on my blog. It doesn't seem to hurt. But I use it chiefly as a format for writing - essays, comments, etc.
Anything deeply personal gets written down in my diary - pen and paper, then locked up: old school.
